Our Work in Action Across Bangladesh (Since 2015)
At Professor Nazrul Rheumatology Foundation and Research® (PNRFR®) Trust, our activities reflect more than a decade of sustained commitment to improving healthcare access, supporting patients in crisis, and strengthening communities across Bangladesh. Since our inception in 2015, we have combined medical service, financial assistance, education, and humanitarian support to reach those most in need.
Below is an overview of our key activities demonstrating the continuity and depth of our work.
Since 2015, PNRFR® Trust has delivered at least BDT 6.5 million in direct financial and humanitarian support, reaching over 10,000 individuals and 700+ families
Medical & Health Services
Free Medical Camps and Community Healthcare
PNRFR® has organized free medical camps and medicine distribution programs in rural and underserved areas to ensure access to essential healthcare services.2015–2022 – Saidpur
2023 – Gouripur, Cumilla District
Free medical camp serving approximately 400 underprivileged patients, providing consultations and essential medicines.
2024 – Shreepur Upazila, Magura District
Free medical camp led by 17 doctors, serving around 300 patients with consultations and medicine support.
2025 – Boro Monohoria, Ati, Keraniganj, Dhaka
Community-based free medical camp involving 15 doctors, providing healthcare services to approximately 300 patients.
2025 – Rajapur, Jhalokathi District
Large-scale medical camp led by 17 doctors, serving nearly 800 patients.
2025 – Sokhipur, Shariatpur District
Medical camp organized at the invitation of a senior pediatric specialist, serving approximately 1,000 underprivileged patients.
Free Consultations and Ongoing Care
2023-2025: Free consultations provided to around 700 patients.

Financial & Treatment Assistance
Support for Critical and Chronic Illnesses in Patients
- 2021 (COVID-19 period): Emergency cash assistance of BDT 1,000 each provided to 570 families from the Saidpur Center, totaling BDT 570,000.
- 2022: 25,000 BDT cash support provided to a cancer-affected domestic worker, and arranged 30% discounted medicines support from a pharmaceutical company.
Examples of Treatment Support (2022–2026):
- Cancer treatment and chemotherapy support
- Kidney disease and dialysis assistance
- Leukemia treatment and bone marrow transplant support
- NICU treatment support for critically ill newborns
- Amputation and bilateral hip replacement
Individual assistance amount have ranged from BDT 25,000 to BDT 200,000, depending on medical need.
Rehabilitation
- 2021 – Saidpur:
A wheelchair was provided to a financially disadvantaged patient following limb amputation, with support valued at BDT 10,000.
Education & Scholarship Programs
Educational Assistance
- 2022 – Dhaka:
- BDT 10,000 provided to a financially disadvantaged student during his Dhaka University admission.
- A one-time grant of BDT 25,000 was given to a meritorious financially disadvantaged student studying at Dhaka Dental College.
- BDT 5,000 provided to a madrasa student to purchase books.
Scholarship Programs
- 2024: Scholarships awarded to 21 students, totaling BDT 462,000
- 2025: Scholarships continued for 21 students, totaling BDT 438,000
Social & Humanitarian Support
Winter Relief Programs
- 2015–2021 – Saidpur: From 2015 – 2021, PNRFR® Trust distributed blankets every year to approximately 1,000 individuals during winter.
- 2023: 1,500 blankets distributed in multiple locations.
- 2025: 2,500 winter blankets distributed in several districts.
Emergency and Family Support
PNRFR® provides emergency assistance during times of crisis, including:
- 2024 – Burichong, Cumilla:
Rehabilitation support provided to 154 flood-affected families totaling BDT 1,640,000. - 2025:
BDT 50,000 financial assistance provided to a family following the death of the sole earner - 2015-2026 :
Various emergency aid was provided during illness or sudden hardship
Social Support Initiatives
2023:
Marriage-related financial assistance provided to four underprivileged women, totaling BDT 20,000.
Financial support provided to 154 families whose homes were destroyed by the flood in Burichong, Cumilla
Community Awareness & Engagement
Awareness and Education Programs
- Since its inception, PNRFR® Trust has arranged patient education programs every year, and added conference concept from 2026 to cover rheumatic diseases.
- 2024 – Shreepur, Magura:
As a part of community awareness, 75 rural healthcare providers (Polli chikitshok) were enlightened with knowledge on rheumatic diseases, stigma reduction, and importance of early diagnosis.
Religious & Community Infrastructure Support
PNRFR® contributes to community development through religious and social infrastructure support.
2023–2025:
- Mosque renovation and construction support in Saidpur, Basila, and Natore, Madinabagh amounting to BDT 600,000
- Pilgrimage (Umrah) support provided to an individual in Saidpur of BDT 200,000
