Our Work in Action Across Bangladesh (Since 2015)

At Professor Nazrul Rheumatology Foundation and Research (PNRFR) Trust, our activities reflect more than a decade of sustained commitment to improving healthcare access, supporting patients in crisis, and strengthening communities across Bangladesh. Since our inception in 2015, we have combined medical service, financial assistance, education, and humanitarian support to reach those most in need.

Below is an overview of our key activities demonstrating the continuity and depth of our work.

Medical & Health Services

Free Medical Camps and Community Healthcare

PNRFR has organized free medical camps and medicine distribution programs in rural and underserved areas to ensure access to essential healthcare services.

2025–2022 – Saidpur

Between 2015 and 2022, PNRFR regularly organized free medical camps and medicine distribution from its Saidpur Center, providing healthcare services to approximately 2,400 rural and underprivileged patients.

2023 – Gouripur, Kurigram District

 Free medical camp serving approximately 400 underprivileged patients, providing consultations and essential medicines.

2024 – Shreepur Upazila, Magura District

Free medical camp led by 17 doctors, serving around 300 patients with consultations and medicine support.

2025 – Bosila Area (Raoila Mor), Dhaka

Community-based free medical camp involving 15 doctors, providing healthcare services to approximately 300 patients.

2025 – Rajapur, Jhalokathi District

 Large-scale medical camp led by 17 doctors, serving nearly 800 patients.

2025 – Shariatpur District

Medical camp organized at the invitation of a senior pediatric specialist, serving approximately 1,000 underprivileged patients.

Free Consultations and Ongoing Care

In addition to camps, PNRFR provides year-round free consultations for poor and disadvantaged patients.

Consultation Support:

2023: Free consultations provided to 336 patients
2024: Free consultations provided to 280 patients
2025: Free consultations provided to 65 patients

Financial & Treatment Assistance

Support for Critical and Chronic Illnesses

PNRFR provides direct financial assistance to patients facing serious and life-threatening illnesses.

  • 2021 (COVID-19 period): Emergency cash assistance of BDT 1,000 each provided to 570 families from the Saidpur Center, totaling BDT 570,000.
  • 2022: Financial and medicine support provided to a cancer-affected domestic worker, including 30% discounted medicines arranged through a pharmaceutical partner and BDT 25,000 in cash support.

Examples of Treatment Support (2022–2026):

  • Cancer treatment and chemotherapy support
  • Kidney disease and dialysis assistance
  • Leukemia treatment and bone marrow transplant support
  • NICU treatment support for critically ill newborns
  • Orthopedic surgeries, including joint and bilateral hip replacement

Individual assistance amounts have ranged from BDT 25,000 to BDT 200,000, depending on medical need.

Rehabilitation and Medical Equipment
  • 2021 – Saidpur: 

 A wheelchair and rehabilitation assistance was provided to a financially disadvantaged patient following limb amputation, with support valued at BDT 10,000.

Education & Scholarship Programs

Educational Assistance

PNRFR supports education as a pathway to empowerment.

  • 2022 – Dhaka:
    • Educational assistance of BDT 10,000 provided to a financially disadvantaged student seeking admission to Dhaka University.
    • Educational materials support of BDT 5,000 provided to a madrasa student.
Scholarship Programs

Since 2024, PNRFR has operated structured scholarship programs for students facing illness, disability, or financial hardship.

  • 2024: Scholarships awarded to 21 students, totaling BDT 462,000
  • 2025: Scholarships continued for 21 students, totaling BDT 438,000

Social & Humanitarian Support

Winter Relief Programs
  • 2015–2021 – Saidpur:
    From 2015 to 2021, PNRFR distributed winter blankets every year to approximately 1,000 cold-affected individuals annually from its Saidpur Center.
  • 2023: Distribution of approximately 1,500 winter blankets across multiple locations.
  • 2025: Distribution of approximately 2,500 winter blankets across several districts.
Emergency and Family Support

PNRFR provides emergency assistance during times of crisis, including:

  • 2024 – Kurigram:
    Rehabilitation support provided to 154 flood-affected families in Kurigram District, totaling BDT 1,640,000.
  • 2025:
    Financial assistance of BDT 50,000 to the family following the death of a primary income earner
  • 2015-2026 :
    Various emergency aid was provided during illness or sudden hardship
Social Support Initiatives

2023:
Marriage-related financial assistance provided to four underprivileged women, totaling BDT 20,000.

Community Awareness & Engagement

Awareness and Education Programs
  • 2024 – Shreepur, Magura:
    A community awareness meeting held with 75 local healthcare providers, focusing on rheumatic disease awareness, stigma reduction, and early diagnosis. Participants received educational materials and awareness tokens bearing the PNRFR logo.

Religious & Community Infrastructure Support

PNRFR contributes to community development through religious and social infrastructure support.

2023–2025:

  • Mosque renovation and construction support in Saidpur, Basila, and Natore, Madinabagh amounting to BDT 600,000
  • Hajj support provided to an individual in Saidpur of BDT 200,000

Partnerships & Contributions

  •  An ambulance donated by Southeast Bank Ltd., currently serving patients in the Saidpur region.
  • Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Partners: Collaboration with BEACON Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, and Jupiter Pharma for medicine supply, discounted treatment, and medical support in critical cases.

  • Medical Institutions and Professionals: Ongoing collaboration with doctors and specialists from leading medical institutions, including teams from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and affiliated hospitals, for medical camps and awareness programs.

Individual Donors and Long-Term Supporters

  • PNRFR is also deeply grateful to its dedicated individual contributors who have continuously supported medical, educational, and humanitarian programs.

    • Md Aminur Rahman (Diamond Member & SpA Ambassador), who is a major contributor to winter relief, scholarships, zakat funds, and emergency medical assistance.

    • Trustees, executive committee members, and general members of PNRFR who regularly contribute through zakat, personal donations, and special-purpose funds.

    • Community members and overseas supporters who providing financial assistance, equipment, and logistical support.
